In Haiti, only 8.6% of the population has received a secondary education, and less than half of the country is literate. This is largely because an education is incredibly difficult to afford. According to the World Bank, in 2014, the GDP per capita was only $846 and according to the latest household survey conducted, more than 59% of Haitians live under the national poverty line of $2.42 USD per day. With that in mind, governmental schools represent a very small portion of total schools in the country. The majority of schools are either run by non-profit organizations, religious groups, or private schools.
We believe that one of the most effective ways to empower people is by initiating changes in their country through education. One of the ways we aim to reduce the illiteracy rate and improve access to affordable education is by building schools in different communities, in which children otherwise would not have access to go to school. We currently run and partner with schools in communities where we have built relationships with people through churches.
Some of the ways you can be involved in our education ministry is through child sponsorship, the feeding program, and the book rental program.

Goals and Objectives for our Education Program:

- Reach out to sixteen different communities to offer primary education

- Construct schools that will be able to facilitate learning for roughly 150-250 children from kindergarten to 9th grade each school year (These buildings will also be used for other educational activities during the afternoons, weekends and summer).
