This medical clinic is being constructed in Pernier, a town in Haiti located roughly 7 miles from Port-au-Prince, as a ministry to the people in this community. Although Pernier is a somewhat urban area, most of the people in this community otherwise don’t have access to health care. First Fruit Haiti often partners with Calvary Church from Minnesota to put on mobile medical clinics and many people line up and wait all day for their only chance to see a doctor. Two of the closest hospitals to this community are between six to eight miles away, and even for those that are able to travel this distance, the cost to receive medical attention is way too high. 

     First Fruit’s dream is to have this medical clinic to serve the people in the Pernier community with affordable health care that is located close to their homes. The vision is for this health clinic is to provide basic health services, to have a pharmacy, and to treat patients that have infections or injuries. We will also provide basic health education.
     So far, the medical clinic has partial constructions built, such walls and the ceiling, but there is still more work to do. There is still some major progress to undertake before this clinic is able to officially open up and serve the people in the community.      In the near future we will also be looking for volunteers, such as nurses and doctors that want to come to serve at this medical clinic for any length of time. We are also currently looking for medical supply donations for the clinic.
